An American Girl Birthday

Jacee-Kay is seven. Where has the time gone? Just yesterday I was rocking her to sleep and snuggling up with her little baby soft fore head against my neck.
I just miss that.
Anyway, she's definitely not a baby anymore.
For her birthday she opted to travel to the American Girl Doll Store in Houston, (as opposed to having a birthday party) where we had lunch, ice skated, shopped till we dropped at the American Doll Store, rode a two story carousel, and rode a chu chu train.
Whew.
Also, how cool was Aunt Michelle to put out a huge poster out in the neighborhood and making Jacee-Kay famous by announcing her birthday was New Year's Eve! That was definitely a highlight of the day.
When we got home, we did a 'mock' count down at 9:30 to bring in the New Year, ate cookie cake, black eyed peas, and a cabbage salad. It was marvelous.

On New Year's Day, needless to say, we stayed in our pj's, watched movies, and played board games.
Our new found favorite is the Disney Charades game.
I love playing with Jacee-Kay because she genuinely wants you to win too.  How sweet is she! ;)

Happy New Year!
